6 Easy Steps
WHAT’S INVOLVED
1.
The nose is numbed with topical medication.
2.
A guide wire is gently maneuvered into the affected sinus.
3.
Once the guide wire’s position within the sinus is confirmed – the balloon catheter is placed over the guide wire into the sinus drainage passage. The balloon is then inflated.
4.
The balloon is immediately deflated and the balloon and wire are removed.
5.
Now the sinus drainage passage has been adequately enlarged and opened.
6.
The procedure is now complete.
